A vehicle plowed into a group of children outside Yong'an Elementary School in Changde, Hunan province, China, leaving numerous students injured. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. as students were arriving for classes. The driver was reportedly dragged from the vehicle and beaten by bystanders before being detained. This attack follows a troubling pattern of similar incidents in China involving vehicles or knives. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the crash.
This is exactly why we need stricter control and harsher punishments to prevent these kinds of senseless attacks from happening again.

It’s heartbreaking to hear about this kind of violence, especially when innocent children are involved. But honestly, this is what happens when people are disarmed and left powerless. In a place like China, where personal freedoms are so restricted, people don’t have the means to protect themselves or prevent these kinds of attacks. If the government wasn’t so authoritarian, maybe everyday citizens could take matters into their own hands and stop these incidents before they escalate. More freedom and less government control would go a long way toward creating a safer society. You can’t rely on the state to protect everyone all the time.
